A "to what extent" is great because you can argue that what the question is saying is only true to a certain extent, and you can then bring in your own points... if you get me? You can start off with something like: the text ___ explores this concept to varying extents...

It does explore belonging, as in his identity and as Taipan said, his belonging to dwarves, human etc, but I don't think its up to HSC standard.

Firstly, yes. There is a lot of content. Esp. in the HSC course. BUT, that does not mean that just because you can't remember things easily, that you should not do it. Memorisation is a skill that you will learn throughout your prelim and hsc years. or, maybe memorisation isn't the best method...

One of my friends goes to a semi-selective school. She didn't do so well in her english adv prelim due to outside reasons and her school forced her to drop to standard. In our school I don't think they can force you, just recommend, so I guess it depends on the school.

I do both Eco and SOR (but only one unit), and I like both of them. The year 12 course for eco is WAY more interesting than the prelim course. But, if you really don't like eco, don't do it. For me, it's one of those subjects that if you don't like it, don't do it. The SOR course is quite...

+1 But, I've heard that if you do crap in advanced, it can pull your mark down, which is one reason why some people will choose not to do advanced. But I think advanced is WAY more interesting. :)

It's a compulsory course that is completed after SC. We did it at our school and it was a bludge. Everyone just talked while doing it. :D They just give you some info and you just answer questions on it. Common sense really.
