    Current Atar Calculator Accuracy

The calculators are giving me a wide range of estimates from 92.5 to 96.5. :/

I think some areas require tickets for NYE but not all. It gets quite crowded from what I've seen on the TV. Any suggestions for games? :D

Any suggestions on how to kill the boredom? No, run now and then you'll be incredibly fit if the world does end! Ooh, nice. Did you get tickets to the fireworks?

Getting hired after the Christmas season

I guess I have a very low chance of being hired right now as applications for Christmas Casuals have closed but what about after New Year? I'm looking for an entry level job in retail or food. Also, what are some companies that will hire casual or part-time workers who are studying at Uni?

    Informatics Recruitment!

I also went this year Goldy. :) I do agree that there were a lot of people but I enjoyed being able to talk to a lot of like-minded people from across Australia and NZ. Do you think they'll accept more for the 2013 one?

General Thoughts: Software Design and Development

It seems like the inclusion of more algorithms threw people off this year so I'm not surprised if people just managed to finish. I also found MC to be more straightforward this year so that shaved a few mins off for me.

    Informatics Recruitment!

Whilst we're on the topic of Informatics, if you're interested in learning more of the programming side of things, apply for the NCSS Summer School. Applications close Friday 23rd November, 2012. It's a whole 10 days of fun and you'll meet great people who have also participated in the AIC and...

General Thoughts: Software Design and Development

Loved this years exam! :D I thought it was a good mix of theory, algorithms & system modelling tools this year and I found the option topic (The Interrelationship Between Hardware & Software) fairly straightforward. And I didn't see any fish this year. :( :fish: How did you all go for...

Software Design & Development Marathon [2012]

It seems like these are examples that the Course Specifications has suggested but you should be safe if you know one from each category and are able to relate it to social & ethical questions.

    Ready for Information Technology?

Overall, it was fairly ordinary. Not too hard and not extremely easy, just the usual easy IT exam. It was more difficult than last years but I think that was expected. I actually preferred the trial in comparison to this HSC exam. Usually its the other way around for me. I only thought that the...

    Impact of DET laptops

Wow, I forgot about the laptops. I'm also interested to see if anyone will gain any long term injuries or whether a lot more people applied for disability provisions. There could also be a drop in our averages because I think we're the first year that had the school leavers rule. Something to...

Software Design & Development Marathon [2012]

That may have been for the previous syllabus as I don't think there is an Excel text for our current syllabus. The legal cases you need to be aware about can be found in the Course Specifications document, and are the following: National RACV vs Unisys Microsoft vs Netscape NSW T Card system...

    SDD Thoughts, Expectations, Fishes?

More fish! :) Maybe a fish and chips scenario? From the syllabus change it looks like there will be more social and ethical related stuff. I'm hoping for some Boolean algebra in the second option topic.

    Cut off

In 2010 it was 88.62/100. I've attached the raw mark database table so you can have a look at the previous cut-offs.

SDD Questions [Coping with the HSC]

Sorry for the late reply huynguyencab, I don't quite understand what you're trying to say. I think it might make it clearer if you upload your desk checking to help us identify where you went wrong.

How did you write the number of booklets on the front page?

Yes, it should be okay. It will just make the clerical work a bit more difficult for them at the marking centres but as long as you've got the right student number, centre number and question number with the name of the prescribed text on the front you should be okay.

How am I able to access course content for SDD/IPT if I didn't chose it as a subject?

Re: How am I able to access course content for SDD/IPT if I didn't chose it as a subj I only know of one girl school that runs SDD. I have heard of people at girls schools studying SDD at boys schools because their schools were just across the road from each other. It's a shame you couldn't...
