    Thinking about studying at Macquarie?

Naw Asylum, you do care I'm not sure if degree x is right for me or not....? Don't caught up in the names of degrees, this often leads people to make (wrong) assumptions about what they will actually be studying. Instead, look at the program itself. Have a look at the core units, see if...

Bachelor of Arts - Psychology with the Diploma of Education (Macquarie university)

Re: Bachelor of Arts - Psychology with the Diploma of Education (Macquarie university Your friend doesn't know anything. Generally it goes: 3 year Bachelors, majoring in psychology (whether this be via a BA, BSci, BPsych, whatever, it doesn't matter) + 1 Year of Honours in psychology + 2...

Macquarie uni the best for actuarial studies?

lol, seriously? Internal transfer at both universities is fairly straightforward, this sort of 'advice' is not helpful.

    Passion vs Reality

I chose to study Ancient History out of high school as it was what i enjoyed and what i was best at. My degree has given me exceptional research skills, the ability to collect and and critically analyse data, form persuasive arguments, write clearly and concisely, and most importantly - to think...

Advice to future Bachelor of Business students at UTS

And how long is it going to take you to finish your degree...?

Advice to future Bachelor of Business students at UTS

4 units per semester is considered a normal, full time load at most universities. It is still a hell of a lot of work and some students choose to underload in order to maximise their grades and pursue extra-curricular activities, especially in 3rd year when the content starts to get tricky.

SIBT at City Campus or Macquarie Campus?

I mean that all the student clubs and societies, parties, student events etc. are centered at the North Ryde campus; there's a lot more to do outside of class.

    UNSW v MACQ

Central coast to UNSW is a very long way!

Low ATAR for B Arts/ B commerce at Macquarie

Generally, internal transfers are a lot easier to deal with than transfers between different universities. Now i'm 99% sure you can transfer from a BA to a double degree, however i'm a little confused because this kind of transfer doesn't seem to be listed on the MQ internal transfer table...

    Macquarie Uni too far

No idea, i don't actually drive to uni, just have plenty of friends who do. =p And as if you wouldn't know Azure, you've been at MQ longer than me? EDIT: No wait, no you haven't, i always forget that you're younger than me =/

SIBT at City Campus or Macquarie Campus?

If you're looking for a richer campus experience, go Macquarie. Though i've never studied at the City campus, i've heard it just isn't the same socially.

Advice on choosing where to do IT

If you have lots of money (ie. are willing to pay tuition up front) you can always do non-award study at MQ and, provided you maintain your grades, be admitted into a Bachelor of Information Technology after a semester. This is where you pay upfront to study units without technically being...

    Should I repeat Year 12?

What is this i don't even? Ah, now it all makes sense.

    What degree?

ATAR too low. What are my options?

It's hard to give useful advice without knowing what your ATAR is; 'too low' means many things to many people, especially on this site.

    Macquarie Uni too far

    10am, often earlier

    Macquarie Uni too far

I dunno, 4 hours of travel a day would wear you down... it takes me about an hour and half to get to MQ by bus/train and i find that fairly exhausting as it is. 40 mins by car is ok i suppose, but keep in mind that parking permits are pretty expensive and car spaces are limited.

    Should I repeat Year 12?

This is bad advice. Repeating year 12 does not guarantee you a better mark. You will likely find the material boring as hell and your morale and attitude will be terrible. Have a search on this site of others who have done this, most found it an awful experience and finished with only...
