Is there absolutely no way to get into a course after not getting an offer?

If they just let anyone in, what's the point of your ATAR and cutoffs?

New and Improved! Studying @ UNSW – a guide to what you really need to know

Likely to be opened later. You should send an email to the course convener requesting more times to be opened. If you don't say anything, nothing will change. Note some tutorials may be reserved for some students, especially if it's maths related.

    Getting into uni!!!

They may be vacant, but there's still a lower ATAR limit for entry.

Discrete Maths can't enroll in lecture

Yes, you should do it in semester 2. You can definitely do 2 free electives in semester 1. As for choosing them, have you considered doing a minor? http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/programs/2017/3778.html

    Choosing standard versus advanced English

They do scale the same, but they are marked against each other. If your Standard essays aren't at the same level as an Advanced essay, you will be marked down. But because the texts are easier in Standard, you need to produce really good work so you're on the same level as an average Advanced...

New and Improved! Studying @ UNSW – a guide to what you really need to know

For local students, 18 UOC and above is a full time study load. 24 UOC per semester is a typical load.

New and Improved! Studying @ UNSW – a guide to what you really need to know

Anything covered can be examined. You need to know everything if you want to do well. Tbh, if you need to 'prep' for uni exams, you probably won't do well. Everything is a progression towards the final exams (and future courses). You will have quizzes, assignments, tutorial questions, lab...

    Enrollment Comp Sci HELP

Yes, unfortunately if it remains full until the start of the 2nd week of uni, you will need to do Discrete in Semester 2. Yes, you would be swapping a course out, so this is where you need to figure out what can be delayed to the following year. Look for courses that are offered in both...

New and Improved! Studying @ UNSW – a guide to what you really need to know

During exam time, I think a section of the library is 24/7. But that's only for a few weeks per year. You would be going to campus security with any issues like that. The librarian is a manager, not someone who works on the floor.

Discrete Maths can't enroll in lecture

If you wanted to graduate with your starting cohort, then yes, you would need to find a way to make up that course, whether that's by a summer course (note that not many are offered) or overloading. Overloading is more than 27 UOC per semester (or what is stipulated on your enrolment page). If...

    UNSW Dilemma

Internal transfers are separate from high school applicants. I wouldn't worry about that, especially with a sufficiently high WAM. No, you wouldn't need to repeat anything. You would just be doing a lot of Arts in your first year (or first semester), then a lot of Education in your second year...

    UNSW Dilemma

Enrol in your courses now. Since Arts is in the double degree that you want to transfer into, you don't really need to worry so long as you don't screw up. Get that 65+ WAM and the internal transfer will be quite easy. If that's Arts/Education (Secondary), you can actually transfer after just 1...

    Questions regarding dual degrees/enrollment

    1. Typically 24 UOC per semester. Doesn't matter if you are doing a single or a quadruple degree. 2. Yes, don't delay. 2.6. You only need to enrol for 1 semester at a time. 3. Yes. It's the only option available.
