This is excellent advice... I was in a similar position to you except i was hospitalised for 2 years and was forced to go to TAFE later on. If you're ok enough to do it just give it a go and don't put yourself down if you don't do as well as you wanted.

I thought chemistry was a prerequisite for medicine...

I feel sorry for you, you need help but you obviously have nobody who knows how unwell you are probably because your parents are dead or they just didnt want you and kicked you out. I understand though, i wouldnt want you either.
