With empirical formulas you are trying to find a ratio (in whole numbers) of element to element. In this case the original C:H found is 1:2.243 and 2.243 isn't very close to a whole number. By trial and error (multiply 2.243 by 2, then 3, then 4, etc...) we can find what number to multiply both...

I mean our school doesn't really offer low scaling subjects. Like everyone is forced to do english advanced and probably 90% of the grade does extension maths (the rest does advanced)

If your doing ext 1 (or even just advanced) you’ll be fine for physics. There’s occasional simultaneous equations but nothing harder than that maths wise. Hardest bit is just working out what maths to use.

People have dropped physics at my school but because they were ranked badly / it was too hard.

Misconception alert!!! The “raw mark” that NESA tells you on 15th December is actually your examination mark which has already been aligned. The only way to know your raw mark is by paying some money to NESA at the end of the year which some people have done and published at this website...
