Wrote outside the corners of a HSC paper

The expression was to think outside the box, not write outside the box! Nah but in all seriousness you'll be fine

    Physics Exam Thoughts

There will still be holes in undoped semiconductors as long as an electron jumps from the valence to conduction band. The absence of that electron always leaves a hole behind in the valence band. I think once it's been doped, for example with a group 3 element then the majority of charge...

    Physics Exam Thoughts

Pretty sure you had to assume that was true

    Physics Exam Thoughts

I'm paranoid after seeing so many people struggle with projectile that I might've missed something too. But I just used y = ut + 1/2at^2 to find t first, then used t to find range since you know initial horizontal and vertical velocity.

    Physics Exam Thoughts

The first part was a bit trickier you needed to realise that you needed to use the value you got for potential energy of the spring was converted to the kinetic energy of the ball so you could use 1/2mv^2 to find velocity. The second part was quite standard though.

    Physics Exam Thoughts

Last few MCQs were a bit hard, what was wrong with the short answers though?

    MX2 Marathon

Re: HSC 2018 MX2 Marathon It's the same as any long division, but just treat -2-2i and 1-i each as one term.

    struggling with chem

Definitely learn the info first, then have a crack at the past papers. Past papers are important too, but they're mainly there to test you on your knowledge once you've done your revision. I guess if there's really not that much time left at all, it would still be beneficial to go over past...

    struggling with chem

I'm assuming you only have 10 units and can't drop chem? Even then the best thing to do now is not to stress too much over it and just take some time maybe lying down and watching online videos explaining the concepts that you're struggling with the most, or some other more relaxing way to teach...

    Calculating orbital velocity

    Thanks for the replies

    Calculating orbital velocity

In question 26c of the 2015 HSC, the answers expected you to calculate orbital velocity by using Centripetal Force = Gravitational Force and then manipulating the equation in terms of velocity. Can you not just use the formula Orbital V = sqrt(GM/r) that's taught in the course immediately...

2017 HSC Mathematics Extension 2 paper thoughts?

I found it much harder than previous years, both my teachers agreed too and said that band 6 cutoff would be much lower this year so if anyone feels bad about how they went, dont be!

    NEED HELP once again

It depends on the marking criteria, if they have a mark allocated for discussing how cracking works to produce ethene then maybe, but I highly doubt they would have a mark allocated for that in the first place since ethene CAN be produced from both methods after all. They'll most likely have a...

    Having trouble finishing an exam

Most students are unable to finish the exam in under 3 hours. Since you’re one of them, just aim for 100% for questions 1-14 because question 15 is where the difficulty gets slightly harder. Assuming if you make no careless mistakes and are able to answer all of them, that already puts you at a...

    English Paper 1 - Thoughts

Why not just search it up instead of asking BOS if you already have a device?

Advanced Paper 2 [Modules] - Thoughts

I still have trouble understanding the Hamlet question. What did it mean??? The plays strength and the plays weakness -.- I had to bs a lot for that

    Personal Response

Wait so you're saying we don't use first person in a personal response? Because our teacher said otherwise. How would a personal response differ from an essay if we didn't use first person?

    Personal Response

I thought the whole point of a personal response was to make yourself the responder? But I'd definitely use first person, I was just wondering how often you needed to use I-statements.

    Personal Response

Hey guys, if we get a question asking for something like "to what extent does this perspective align with your understanding of Hamlet?" (2015 HSC), what changes should you be making to a prepared essay? How many times would you need to refer to your own understanding of the text and would you...

    English Paper 1 - Thoughts

Same with me, it took so long trying to pick out the techniques and analyses that I didn't get to finish the last question, only included 4 quotes :/
