i want mechanics in q8, how often does this happen? or integration or induction at least...

    Imaginary No

i think the a+ib is seperate from the equation u just multiply across, expand, collect and factorise the terms with z, divide by coeffient of z , then realise the denominator

    Conics: deriving tangent/normal

unless it says "you may assume ...etc" then u have to derive it for tangents and normals for chord of contact, u can state it unless it asks u to prove it

Fitzpatrick - is it really that bad?

oh dear... fitz is all i've used all year for 3u and 4u :S

i think thats the case if the top external is 94 not the top HSC

    So....who's given up?

    i just gave up

    Expelled with one day left.

if the waterbomb did come from a car driving at 60k/hr, fair enough get expelled for either intent, or stupidity (if intent wasn't there). i don't think OP's case came from a car though, most likely it didn't do any damage, in that case expulsion seems a bit much.

    Usyd Scholarships

i don't think this will be the case, i put mine in the mail on the 28th and got the confirmation on the 30th

    engineering studies

if your there for the knowledge, pick engineering, if u want marks, pick physics instead or chemistry instead. the engineering course for the HSC is substantially more difficult than the sciences from the fact that it has almost double the content. in terms of difficulty, engineering...

argh not ready to leave! i've only just begun to appreciate school this year and its already gone :(
  13. D

    More differentiation, lol!

why would he want to use the quotient rule in the first place...?
  14. D

    More differentiation, lol!

uhhh.... isn't 4x/2sqrt(x) just 2sqrt(x) which is easy to differentiate?

Finally got my ranks!! ATAR estimate?

yes, thats based on the assumption that he attends a school ranked 2nd
  16. D

Finally got my ranks!! ATAR estimate?

i'd say 97-98, u've got 4 units above avg and 7 below, 1 unit of maths probably won't about and i'll assume chem is strong at ur school if high 70's (almost band 6) == 85/105, subject scaling wise is good aswell
  17. D

    99+ Possible?

i see what ur saying, i'm just pointing out, more than likely the band distributions for schools with similar ranks will be similar, if hes lucky and english is an incredibly strong subject at his school then i'll probably be wrong but usually schools don't have 1 good subject and the rest...
  18. D

    99+ Possible?

easy internals won't make a difference, it all gets scaled in the end to match our external average, percentage of band 6's is related to school rank, in which OP's and mine are similar.
  19. D

    99+ Possible?

holy wtf? now i really believe that aims influences estimates. 90/120 for english? thats like high band 4 internal, i dunno why everyone is going on about band 6 for english, even if u get 100 it will average to band 5. if u don't believe me, my school is ranked 70th, similar rank, out of...
