o ok- because they use J in the polynomial questions of fitzpatrick. i think i remember my teacher saying it was "integer"..
so if it stands for integer than what is the difference between an integer(J) and a real number(R)?

Spiral- what does Q and R stand for in the fitzpatrick book?
and what does it mean for e.g z^4 + 2z^3 + z^2 - 4=0, z is an element (E) of C?
just not too sure on these polynomial symbols, thanks.

Spi, you have probably heard this question before but how can I FULLY expose myself to all questions that could be asked in a maths assessment or exam? I've been doing HSC papers and starting to get into Fitzpatrick. Basically all I'm asking is what should I practise from to not be taken by surprise?
