  • Hey, it's going well.
Solid 3 hours of study per night and leisurely, easy, outgoing weekends, I'm enjoying it and I feel like I'm making good progress :)
Can't wait for my first assessment task - English! A damn listening/viewing task, hate them. Have you seen any threads on these sort of tasks? I need some advice because I really do suck with analysing short clips.

    How are you going?
well actually we've done 6, but the other 4 are non-examinable content lol, my bad.
ohh, you guys are doing ancient egypt already? we're doing Pompeii and Herculaneum haha. I just wanted to see how youse finished off the first 2 syllabus points, cos all we got were sources and 1 worksheet so yeah haha.
hey hey :) just wondering if you guys have finished off the first 2 syllabus points off for ancient, and if so were you guys given worksheets or what?

Sif you need to do 3 hours a night for complex numbers...they're so easy...what exactly do you find hard about them? agrand diagrams? vectors?
i was aiming for medicine. going by my last set of scores i should rethink that. drama and general maths will drag me down, so i'm hoping they won't cut me from eng ext. 2.
apparently the catholic schools office (they control everything for us) has this formula that decides how many teachers each school should get, and they were letting us have extra for some reason, but they want to take those teachers back. if they're not allowed have another english teacher then the ext. 2 english class needs to be cut from 18 to a max of 12, which will be decided on our proposals and attendance. eep!
just saw your rant on the year 12 workload. awwe :( i know how you feel. on friday i came home, screamed at and tried to hit my sister, accidentally ripped her shirt, dug earplugs as far as i could into my ears as possible and climbed into bed underneath a pile of clothes i should have been hanging or packing to go to sydney that night. my mum came home and yelled at my sister when she found me crying. it's all so much. because of that, and the trip, i lost three days of homework.

all we can do is try and stick together, i guess, and try not to go crazy as we hope for the best.

TBH, I gave up on scanning...I am seriously too lazy...Maybe one day someone else will take over...

But yeah, start 4U on thursday...People say it's hard, but I beg to differ.
heya, i dropped to 2u because i got 50% in my trial for 4u... i got estimated as a high E3, however i thought a band E3 was 65-80 so i thought that wasnt very good and dropped back to 2u in hope to get >98
hey, the answer is no, it doesn't require proof, might benefit you seeing the proof once though just to help with understanding, but it's not testable to my understanding.
We haven't really started year 12 yet, school's been a bludge the first week. We haven't started 4U either just been revising 3U since the 3U exam is on wednesday. Only annoying thing is that BOS isn't offering cosmology anymore :( which i was pretty excited on doing. Oh well. How about you? I saw one of your posts on the year 12 board about how you're not coping. How come you have so much work on the 1st week of school? What school do you go to?
We had retreats for the past three days. It was fun but at the same time I'm worried on the missed out time, so I'll have to catch up! Also afraid of my motivation burning out due to all the fun I've been having. Keep up the studying dude!
This major work has me fairly interested! I'm not topping Modern... unfortunately lol, my marks fluctuate with Modern but nevertheless, I still find it interesting. I might as well take it up, I don't think I have anything to lose, because I could drop out if I don't seem to enjoy it!

Once again, thank you for the motivation ninety :D
You take up History Ext? I never knew that, lol sweet! From what I've heard, the drop out rate is high and that it's tough, theory rich. So what exactly is this 'major work' you're talking about? I do enjoy assignments and I'm more confident about it given that it isn't an assessment or exam haha.

Not sure about study periods, I need some haha. If I drop Business Studies, I'll surely get some but not sure if I'll get any if I pick up History Ext.
I'm thinking of just dropping Business Studies and leaving it at that, so I can focus 'more clearly' lol, 7 subjects is way too many to study for.

Yeah I practically did lol, good to see you did too! I only wish for that 99+ haha, especially with my subjects ie. Visual Arts and IPT and my stupid choices back in year 10... I shoiuld've picked up Extension English in the first place.
Hmm... after thinking about what I just wrote, maybe I should take up History Ext, dude, so confusing! ...
it was an act of kindness since beating the bell curve for general will scale up and do more good than sitting at the bottom of advanced and being scaled down. i had my first general maths lesson today, also my first with one of our school's resident Marist Brothers, and he started by saying if we weren't serious about year twelve we should get out and get a job so our parents aren't wasting their money. through it was scattered "i'm not being mean, i'm stating fact" and i agree with him.

religion with our class' third teacher in a calendar year (my fourth) was the same: "if you're not serious about studies of religion, what are you doing here?". i'm just glad i've finally got a teacher who knows and genuinely likes teaching the course! we kept interupting to tell him how our last teachers had it in for us and he defended them saying they must have been forced to teach religion
