bro im tryna do the 2019 physics paper and its question 27 already... still havent turned on my calculator
edit: yup no calculation questions until bloody q30 💀
and to think that 2019 has the most math of all the new syllabus papers lol

If someone ran a standardized science exam among most recent high school graduates, I wouldn't doubt NSW would come dead last. Who's fault will it be? certainly the failed education system. I find it funny how Americans say that their HS curriculum is so low quality, yet they haven't seen NSW's. Americans get to do AP courses in High School, which are much more rigorous than any HSC subject except extension 2 maths. Americans genuinely get a better High School education than New South Waliens.
it would be tassie dead last but i agree nsw wouldnt be top 3 despite most resources as a state

2021 got lucky for physics. there were no humanities questions and if there was something about history it was presented in a mathematical setting or we were given information about the experiements

nah there were still like 15 marks of analyse this experiment bs stuff that along with a few marks of pure regurgitation.

even if you get all the main points correct, they mark the 9 marker based on structure. it's literally so rigged. if you're bad at english the max ur getting on that 9 marker is a 6 out of 9. just look at how subjective their marking criteria is

this is total bull crap.

Side note, 2024 was the worst paper ever in terms of section 2. The last few questions were completely qualitative rather than being quantitative compared to 2023 and previously.

The very last 2024 question (pendulum and can)'s marking criteria was a load of bullcrap as well.

Also I don't even suck at explaning physics concepts . Apparently this 4 marker was the hardest question lmfao, I guess losers in this subject can only regurgitate bs garbage and write like shakespeare. Thankfully the marker gave me 4/4 for this

I also like how the marker ignored the fact that I said "over the same time" (time actually was irrelevant) rather than "over the same displacement", this goes to show the marker was bored out by the other shit verbose responses unlike mine. I really deserved a 3/4 here since I mentioned time despite mentioning displacement being correct, but the marker probably thought my response was just too good compared to most others and gave me a pity mark, since he probably spent his days giving 1/4 for this question. btw, I only went over the line by 1 line lol, I had to write further down as I crossed out work above. Was this a good question? apparently yes, since the losers who could only rote learn, regurgitate from their ass and write like Shakespeare couldn't answer a single bit of it lmao. Not only that, I've never encountered a question like this before. All the knowledge I dumped in this question was dug out from prelim lmao and a bit of common sense. This can't be said for the majority of other qualitative HSC questions such as explaining BS such as Einstein's theory of relativity, which is purely just regurgitate what the textbook told you. Not only that, prior to the HSC exam, I didn't do jack shit studying for the bs history questions and all the other mod 7 and 8 bull crap except calculation questions lol. This qualitative is the goat in hsc physics as it actually required knowledge and some speck of intelligence.

all the qualitative questions in the hsc physics are questions that I can do with my eyes closed they are questions a baby could do they do not require any intellegence or knowledge the fact that you think they do says a lot. So you are not good at writing or calculations...... mhmm interesting

Didn't you just say "high school isn't hard except for English". Do you apply the same logic to English ?

im just saying either they make it all piss easy calculations in which case it would ALL be about silly mistakes 0 way to differentiate you from someone that is smart. OR they make the calculations hard in which case once again people like you would complain. So they have chosen an alternative method of skill expression in writing - which if you know anything about pure science is required when making scientific papers etc. in multiple professions (e.g. doctors have to author multiple papers)

bro I wouldn't complain at all. Scaling will be better and I will probably still get a slightly higher scaled mark as a result

well you lose marks on silly mistakes (not including key points) but most of the time just your structure.
you lose 1 mark for structure you lose the rest for not including points that answer the question - in the hsc you wouldnt even lose a mark for structure

nope, hsc biology teachers and tutors say that structure is very important at differentiating a full marker and a lower marker. Although it definitely applies for all hsc sciences

i had the same perspective as you I was also mad that for my year the scaling was non-existant because the paper was so fucking piss easy (I got raw 96 and scaled 96 or something) but they really don't have a lot of options where people don't complain. Btw don't get me wrong I agree I wish it was all hard calculations but it just isnt plausible

I am a HSC chem and phys tutor who state ranked chemistry I think I know a thing or two about writing responses for questions
