Congratulations to Albo. Another 3 years of the housing crisis getting worse and life in general getting worse for working australians, while he spends his time writing cheques to israel and ukraine

if your solution to the housing crisis is cutting down on immigration dont liberals secretly love immigration bc its lowkey the entire economy. the greens plan to just build more houses is lowkey also stupid as shit tho bc wont the rich ppl just buy them out and rinse repeat until we run out of land and we are like the Japanese with our fold out kitchens and beds next thing we know one child policy and baby girls end up in the dumpsters. anyways idk just a girl

Im still in shock at that graph. I guess if you really look at it, the Coalition's strategy was just woeful when you look at the details. The goal of an election is to win seats not just votes. Here is where they had no plan. They clearly gave up on the Teal seats, which would have required a fiscally conservative, socially moderate approach. Instead, it seems they decided to target the outer suburban seats. However, that is very difficult to do with their policy mix. For example, cutting Public Sector jobs and WFH. Most Public Servants live in the outer suburbs (NOT Canberra per se) and the people who most benefit from WFH are those in the outer suburbs. On top of that, the Coalition's Nuclear plan centred on building Nuclear plants in outer suburban areas and no one wants to live near one of those things.

I can already see the Sky News set (Credlin, Panahi and Bolt) saying you dont win elections by being Labor-lite, but this is just completely tone-deaf. The Abbott/Newman governments went full conservative and they were universally unpopular. Im not saying you need to move to the centre by any means, but you need to pick a strategy and ensure your policies target the right people. The Coalition campaign picked an audience but then decided on a campaign which isolated them and targeted a completely different audience. Madness. It was an awful campaign that clearly didnt resonate.

I don't get the logic behind his nuclear thing. isn't nuclear energy kinda of left wing save the environment acknowledging climate change exists blue hair woke leftist agenda because its more sustainable, reduces Co2 or wtv but he also wanted to expand coal mines. but wouldn't nuclear energy mean less coal mines. I don't understand politics
