That sounds kinda impossible but maybe I'm wrong

How likely is it to a get a job that isn't retail or fast food as a teen with no work experience? I would imagine its hard

But department stores like nike and plenty of others still count as they aren't fast food or grocery stores

From what I've seen it's still pretty hard. A lot of these department stores are open while you're at school and close a lot earlier than fast food stores or stores like Kmart/woolies. If you haven't completed the hsc yet they'll probably see that as a deal breaker since you have very limited availability and your school timing might clash. But yeah it's still very possible

it should be fine, my school's dux was working while doing her hsc and she got a 99.6 atar, she did 3u eng, science ext, standard math, chem, bio, economics

couple of days in a week, would pick up more hours during the holidays as well.
