digital notes or handwritten? (1 Viewer)

for me science and math definitely handwritten notes but do u guys think digital notes for history - modern and english is useful? or am i just better writing/highlighting? i have my yearlies in week 3 and im trying new methods of studying to practise for senior yrs (not 'too' worried abt yr 10 atm)

u should just do what works best for u, usually handwritten notes work better for me since im kind of taking in the notes while writing slowly but when i dont have time typing them worked well for me too (it didn't matter a lot), i think for now since ur in year 10 just do the highlighting since theres no point but in senior years u should just figure out what works best for u (in senior years i never handwrote my notes, i found that to be a waste of time)

It depends. But for some people writing handwritten notes are better especially when u have to memorise it later on as it helps you retain the information better

if you have a large amount of info in anything in my opinion it is a waste of time writing it down on paper. for modern i personally had all my notes on onenote (before i knew i was gonna drop it) and when i wanted to revise i would make summaries and mindmaps and essay plans by writing them on paper. the same thing works for english too in my opinion. but for essays always write them down on paper before an exam bc its good practise for the exam

so you create a book for each subject and you can create sub folders for each topic. and then you type/write etc. it works the same as google docs lowkey except for me personally i chose it over google docs bc of 1 feature: its more freestyle if that makes sense and its more compatible for putting in different types of media (pictures, diagrams etc.) and handwriting things if you have a pen-compatible device

so for modern and eng specifically i made typed notes and used other resources like images, mind maps using my own handwriting and pdf extracts from textbooks/exemplars. i often took screenshots of the thing, pasted it onto the onenote page and annotated useful stuff on the image using my pen. for google docs you can't do that unless you go into the drawing thing but even then i found it ridiculously annoying personally

you should def try typing for your content heavy courses where handwriting notes might get very tedious. if you hate it you can always just go back to handwritten and technically its good practise for things like english and stuff
