one thing that I hate abt ee2 is that the marking seems so subjective like I saw somewhere that the subject with the most disputed marks is EE2

my tutor was telling me abt a guy at her school who the teacher were SURE would state rank, then he got a LOW E3. They ended up refuting his mark but still. its so scary.

jeez that is scary dont they double mark? its crazy like if they are seeing that ee2 has the most refutes maybe they should put in place better marking practices or clearer rubrics to mark off cause the marking criteria is so vague imo. I could also imagine people accepting the mark they got without getting disputes as well

id argue its probably better and more efficient to get triple markers for the course rather than having to go through all these dispute processes and
headaches lol

I'm working on my critique of the creative process rn? For my MW I've done 3k words out of 4k-5k, but I'll be done by the end of this week. What about you?

My critique is due in a few days, my major work is done but im doing some stylistic changes to it, reflection I got a draft of it but I think im gonna use some ideas from my critique for my reflection. But so far I think im on track

I got my critique back today and I got 14/15 even tho I was bs'ing for some of it (the stuff about editing and revising). So youll do great!

I was just wondering that rn my major work is over the word count because I'm explaining critical theory and then doing a cross-comparative study of it between two texts. I was just wondering if to save word count if I should cut the 2nd text and only do 1 text? Sorry if i explained that poorly but I'm doing the triple consciousness theory and a cross-comparative study of Nervous Conditions and The Grass is Singing in reimaging it.

Also is it detrimental to your major work if chose to only focus on 1 text and not more.

Hey that’s ok! Im doing a creative I think MJrey did a critical she might be of better help but from my perspective, if you think that the 2nd text was insignificant just cut it out and if you have remaining words focus on the first text. BUT if your doing a comparative study, did you do each text in isolation or did you reference both throughout. Because if so it may be a bit trickier.

OR

go over the whole thing and find ways to convey the same point in a shorter manner. This obviously depends on how long ur mw is like I’m currently on 5978 words and I’ve done that for mine and it worked well (I did creative though)

I think definitely do as your teacher about this and just curious what’s the word count you got right now? Good luck

I did a comparison between 3 texts for my essay, and because my essay was specifically comparative, the best way I could reduce my word count was just to remove redundant sentences/quotes that didn't end up serving the purpose of my argument. How many words are you over? You can also get your teacher/mentor to help with cutting things down.

I'm doing a creative (not very well) but I'll try my best to help;
You need to consider: is the text that with weaker analysis important to your MW concept? If your whole schtick is specifically your explanation of triple consciousness theory (sounds sick btw) and the analysis of one of the texts isn't necessary to convey your intent then you can absolutely cut it. But if you want your work to specifically be about the cross-comparative study and that's the form you're set on then keep it in there.

In that case, like the others said, you can always cut down your word count by removing anything that feels redundant, that you could say with much less words; even intelligent-sounding waffle should be cut down if you want to keep it under the word limit and preserve its integrity. Ensure everything is your concept, concentrated. If that helps at all lol!!

does anyone else have classmates who've used AI for their major works? I was overhearing a conversation between my mentor and classmate had 36 percent ai score in turnitin and it's lowkey crazy to think people actually could've used it for their major work . what would nesa even do with these kind of people? like im curious because ai detectors can be inaccurate sometimes so I wonder how they would deal with that. thankfully all my stuff came out as 0%
