hi guys, ive never used this platform before and idk if this is the right place to post, but i have my ucat test tomorrow and I'm feeling really stressed because of it because my trials just finished today and i haven't had any time to study for the test. i did a few practice tests and i keep getting around 2700 (i know, its really bad). i just don't know what to do from now until tomorrow, abstract reasoning is my worst section because i just can't get my head around it, i don't know how to look for the necessary patterns.
is there any advice i can take on board before tomorrow?? how hard is the actual test, does anyone whos done it have any tips?

thank you so much guys

stress will get you nowhere. focus on what you can do rn in AR to improve. Note that a clear mindset is essential to do well on these tests.

yeah I'm trying my best to stay level-headed, but does anyone have any last minute tips I can take onboard? I really regret leaving this to the last minute, is it worth it studying tomorrow?

I just did mine today. The best advice I got that I think helped me alot was that you won't be able to make any significant progress overnight, so instead of doing hours of practice just do a little bit and then relax and clear your mind so you maximise your performance tomorrow. At the end of the day all you can do is go in there and try your best, whatever outcome occurs it'll work out eventually

Although one thing I noticed in relation to AR in the test was most of the patterns were quite simple (odd/even amount of shapes, symmetrical overall pattern, number of shapes etc.) as opposed to the ones in the practice tests which are sometimes alot more complicated, so don't overthink it. If you feel like you're taking to long on a question just flag and skip it and come back (that applies to all sections actually, especially QR in my experience).

yeah i a lot of the ones I'm doing on medentry have the most random shit, (2n-1 number of intersections) and its making my head spin 💀

Some of the shapes only really correspond to certain patterns so you can usually find it.

E.g. clock faces usually are about the angle of the hands (obtuse vs acute) and lines are usually about intersections or amount of enclosed shapes. Im so happy I don't need to do anymore ridiculous patterns because its over 🙏

I did medentry, subtest difficulty was a lot easier, except vr which was actually harder because all my passages were long asf - not a single short one which I can actually read carefully. Luckily scanning for keywords worked lmao

do full, people usually do subtext mocks really early on and you get an inflated percentile (i got 90+ on every one, but when I actually did the full one, it was only like 60-70s)

If u cant finish one, just do the one u want to practice, then skip to the end to get ur results :)

i mean the deadline to apply is already past but its basically an aptitude test for med + dent students to test their abilities to digest info in a given timeframe
