Hey guys, I got the results back for my second assessment task and they were not good.... it was a hand-in task and I got something just below 50% (yikes). I was in a terrible place mentally and I'm pretty frustrated at myself for what I did.
Additional info, in the first assessment task I got a score of over 90%, and I am the only student in the class.

How much impact will this have on my overall mark? Is it still possible to do well with that one task bringing down my internal mark? Obviously my internal rank will be 1st regardless of what I do....

Regardless of your mark, it is more important to think about how it will impact your rank as that will influence your final mark.

I am the only student in the class.
Then it doesn’t matter at all, and especially given that it’s a hand in task, it literally has no impact.

Because you’re in a 1 person class, your internal mark will be the same as your external mark, so in effect 100% of your mark is how well you do in the HSC

Because you are the only person in the class it doesn't matter (as has been said), however your marks on the assignment may be indicative of poor understanding of the content covered on the assignment. Usually the only thing Y11/Y12 marks tell you is if your study time is sufficient or not (good marks = study time is sufficient, poor marks = study time is not sufficient), so you may consider doing additional revision on that specific topic/s and asking your teacher/tutor for additional resources to help fix the deficiency.
