what do your prelim marks + internal hsc marks need to look like for a decent chance at early entry? (1 Viewer)

As Life'sHard mentioned, specific requirements will depend on the chosen university and the degree that you wish to study. While a university like WSU sets specific year 11 grades and year 12 bands for their respective degrees (which, when achieved, guarantee an offer to a chosen degree), a university like UTS is rather vague as it does not list specific grades that would enable you to receive an early offer. You might therefore be able to receive additional information if you have an idea in mind.

Generally speaking, however, you would typically be looking at B grades in year 11 and/or band 5's/band E3's in year 12 for a decent chance at an early offer. Beyond this point, any improvement to your marks (for example, A grades in year 11 and/or band 6's/band E4's) would only assist you in maximising your chances of receiving an early offer.

I hope this helps! :D

so your early year 12 marks dont contribute at all to early entry?
An early entry scheme that makes offers based on year 12 results considers final HSC marks (which implies the need to sit the HSC exam and therefore successfully complete year 12). Assessment marks cannot be considered on their own because they will not be moderated until HSC exam marks also become available.

While this means that it technically would not literally be an early offer, it is still an alternative method of entry to the standard ATAR-based application.
