How did this person get this answer I put 60cos 30 in the calculator and I didnt get that answer???

hello could you tell me how you changed your calculator into degrees mode?
This may depend on the calculator that you use. In my case, I use a CASIO fx-82AU PLUS II. To change my calculator into degrees mode, I press SHIFT then SETUP then the number 3 which is the option for degrees mode.

You can use Pythagoras‘ theorem to help remember the angles and ratios of the sides of these two very special triangles (1. half of the unit square and 2. half of an equilateral triangle) - then you won’t need a calculator to work out that cos 30° = √3/2 and therefore that 60 cos 30° = 60 x √3/2 = 30√3
