practice finding techniques and answering questions

comprehension is quite formulaic in nature so just do it again and again and im certain you'll get better at it

It's a valid question since when was it called a reading task?

My advice would be to complete as many past HSC and trial papers under time conditions (if you can get feedback that's a bonus). It's important to emulate exam conditions since you will need to be able to decipher unseen texts quickly for the HSC. Additionally, it might be cliche but reading itself helps.

Does anyone have tips for reading tasks?
First sentence should be a specific and explicit answer to the question.(i.e. what emotion, experience, behaviour is the text addressing?). At the minimum you should have one less than the allocated mark amounts of analysis. QTE is the best approach to it. Quote: The Evidence. Technique: Self explanatory. Try to make sure they are different and varied. Effect: The analysis. Make sure it links back to your previous answer.

For Texts which involve two texts. Take a mini essay structure. Introduction, paragraph 1: Focusing on Text 1, paragraph 2: Focusing on text 2, conclusion. For 4-5 marks have 2 evidence per para. For 6-7 marks have 3 evidence per para.
