Lol, mine cost $95 and the stupid thing is we only wear them twice a week…
I think mine cost around that much but it was literally winter gear like something I'd take on a trip to Antarctica. which is tragic bcz it gets hot around here, I used to just come to school wearing it to assert my status as a yr12 but then I'd take it off for the day to avoid heatstroke

I reckon why teachers make you use surnames is because if you think about it sometimes the whole year group can think of the dumbest ideas on their school jersey, like #KKK or anything ridiculous. So to make sure no inappropriate messages are being sent to their fellow peers' surnames are used.

Umm, I thought everyone was already aware of this.

Well, not everyone because some cohorts can get out of control.

Personally, I don't get the point of making people do their last names. I do get that some people may choose inappropriate names on their jerseys. But at the end of the day, students are in their last year and just want a bit of fun or creativity. So even if they can express that through jersey names, it makes it so much valuable then just having last names, which in my opinion, is just way too boring and dull. Of course, teachers should make sure to veto suggestions which are offensive or inappropriate, but for the most part of it, some students do actually tend to come up with funny ones. Like I remember I had a mate whose name was Owen, and his name was "Owen did I ask" (probably spelled differently). Like that's something which isn't appropriate in the slightest but still funny to most people.

lol our teachers also get jerseys and we can choose our own nicknames, my maths teacher has some joke with "dont be a jerk" but the jerk is the jerk equation or third derivative (whatever its called)

most of our classmates just put their instas on the back or some meme name.

Unfortunately, I‘ve seen a bit too many with “2/cos C”.
