Try these Topics when doing plans: China (or your country of choice), exchange rate, macroeconomic policies, external stability, unemployment, distribution, trends in trade and financial flows, environment, distribution, international agreements, free trade and protectionism.

I may or may have not basically quoted the entire syllabus lol.

omg okay thanks sm i feel like this clear things up a bit. because basically i was freaking out over the fact that you can get like 10+ different essay questions for each topic and that was rlly overwhelming me.
i’ve actually compiled some rlly good stats which i’m in the process of learning which is comforting. but yeah it’s the structure that’s freaking me out….
you know what, i will make essay plans now that the process has been somewhat simplified

next minute they ask for micro policies tho…

also i’m deffos trying ur tip of smashing out MC and SA in an hour coz that’s how slow i am at the essays…

100% it can be confronting. But as soon as you start doing some you'll get the hang of it. You'll even see how each topic is linked and you'll be able to re-use some bodies and stats for different qs. Just write plans on 2012-21 essay plans + and grind the trial papers on send ur papers google drive and you should get a sense of confidence. And 1 week prior just make back up plans. But, remember I'm assuming you have prirotised others subjects over econ hence, why the limited essay plans. So you should be able to reduce your hours on other subjects now for econ. And please begin to memorise ASAP.

na bro the memorisation is the hard part lol.
i have essay plans but im defs not memorising im gonna just learn the exemplar stuff then just wing the basic knowledge like how transmission mechs work and also making up stats. im gonna learn the trends but not stats im ballparking all of them except for the main ones e.g. cr ue underemployment inf etc.
legit one day I remember the stats. After a day of no revision -> mind blank.
i was actually gonna memorise everything like 8 weeks before hsc i even had a plan but i gave up because like you said the knowledge doesnt retain and i was constantly updating as well. plus memorising is a bore idk how you do it. when i memorise english i learn one line then i dose off for like 5 minutes

You should aim to memorise key paragraphs that are versatile and can be reused for many different essays. For example, a savings - investment gap paragraph can be used for a CA, external stability, trade and financial flow, and exchange rate question.

oooh, that’s a great idea!!
do you have any more examples of versatile paragraphs?

btw i’ve made like a table on monetary, fiscal and micro policies in response to all the economic issues … do you reckon that’d be helpful in terms of essays?

the reason i don’t wanna go off and memorise a hundred essay plans is coz i have all the content on my notes anyway so it just seems counterproductive to restructure my notes when i could be just memorising the info and writing essays with that stored info on the spot.

a couple of versatile paragraphs as supplements defs sounds more achievable tho

Just off the top of my head some more versatile paragraphs can be a trade balance paragraph, which can also be applied to essay topics such as external stability and CA. ToT paragraphs are also good.

Yes a table for all the policies is definitely going to help. You should have a lot of up to date stuff in there from the 2021 Federal Budget:)

I just do the practice papers with stimulus booklets, and with practice, I can circumvent how it saps time. I just pinpoint the best techniques that can be backed up with quotes that answers the question. I can consistently get 17+ overall with different stimuli and even 5 page long texts.

I used to oversaturate the shorter of the short answers but now I feel like just get straight to the point contrary to what is expected in an essay.

Theres just no substitute for essay plans. They give you practice. Even I had many stats before but, I would be confronted when I saw a q and it wouldn't help. But, by writing multiple essay plans you get to sharpen your bodies as they overlap a lot in many other questions.

Also essay plans kinda force you to find three specific points + real world examples + make you do topic sentences etc...
