Wow last Q. was derangements, something covered in a past 4U BOS Trial (the 2014 one I think) from memory!

I could not be happier

Some of the questions felt a bit awkward to answer, (looking at you, messy partial fractions question!), but over all there was no question that I felt was "too hard".

I even did the circle geo question, but I feel like it would've been nicer to split that into 2 or 3 parts :p

What's everyone thinking of in difficulty in terms of previous years? Personally I found that Question 16 was slightly less accessible, but apart from that not too bad overall.

Edit: Also, what do you think was needed for an e4?

Definitely much harder than 2015 for me.

I found it easier than previous years, to be honest. Lots of questions felt like they had lengthy algebra, but didn't require too much thinking.

Is the general consensus then that it was easy this year but just had Q's involving lots of tedious algebra?
Well, out of my cohort of 7, the consensus was that the whole paper was easy. I didn't really think the algebra was too tedious honestly, maybe a couple questions here and there, but overall it wasn't that bad. A lot of people seemed to skip 16 though.

Do you think there was a bit too much guidance given in some places? (It seems like that in some places to me, made some of the questions much easier.)

Yeah honestly. Some of the marks were just way too easy to obtain, especially in the last question, seeing as though that question should be very difficult. And then there was that ellipse question. I don't know how that was worth 4%.

EDIT: Yeah just skimmed it again, I forgot how much they held your hand in question 14.

I normally get around 85-90% in past papers but I'm probably getting around 75% in this one, it definitely did not suit me

Ah yeah, you're right. Took a look at that ellipse Q. and the marks there are essentially all standard. But I think one reason they ask Q's like that is to try and make sure everyone can at least get some marks.

Please tell me you don't think it was easier than 2014 and 2015.

Yeah I guess that makes sense.

I don't really think it was easier, around the same difficulty. I don't know the general consensus though, my cohort is too small to get a good idea of that.
