So it turned out that the solutions were correct then and here is the correct graph.

Its one of the most ambiguous questions I've encountered especially with the wording of the word 'fully open'.

How many ppl found this question hard
It wasn't so much as hard as worded badly/ambiguously

You'd hope in an exam/hsc they would put a little more effort into asking a clear question :haha:

Are you sure the answer isn't 90 seconds? davidgoes4wce said he had a source where the answer was 90 seconds. Anyway, why would they tell us about the tap closing off at the end if we weren't meant to use that (if we do use that, we get 90 seconds)?

Yes it was 100 and I know the question is exactly right and so is the answer

Yes I got it out of a worksheet (apparently it was the hardest rate of change question ever asked)

Sounds potentially unreliable (I doubt it's the hardest rates of change question ever).

A tutoring worksheet lol. What was the hardest rate of change question ever asked Integrand?
I'm quite sure it's unreliable. And I'm not sure, check HSC papers from the previous century.

Think this was a past HSC qustion
I think davidgoes4wce had a source (maybe some past HSC exam book or something like that) that said the answer was 90 (which is the only reasonable answer given the info we are told about the tap turning off at the end).

Sure it said 100, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily correct. Why do you think that answer is correct other than "it says so" (if at all)?
