I only did two 3rd year maths subjects this semester (MATH3961 and MATH3974), since I already did more than enough maths subjects last yearYou did 3rd year maths this sem right?
How were they? Next year I'm more than likely doing Metric Spaces/Galois Theory/Biomaths/and idk the last one yet, but probs mathematical computing.
Am I gonna get hardcore rekt (all at advanced level, I don't like doing regular if there's advanced available).
I was completely rekt by MATH3961 To be honest, I didn't expect to be rekt so badly since I did alright in MATH2962 and MATH3969 I thought MATH3969 was harder than MATH3961 but my result for MATH3969 was so much better than MATH3961.
I did mathematical computing last year (but I was in the normal stream). I think it's one of the easier 3rd year maths subjects I've done. If you're comfortable with programming you won't struggle too badly, I think. The programming assignments were relatively straightforward but 1 or 2 out of the 5 programming assignments were particularly time-consuming, which is probably something you should consider since you plan to do four 3rd year maths subjects I did two 2nd year and two 3rd year maths subjects last year so I could spend more time on the programming assignments But notice that the language used is probably not such a common choice - FORTRAN - so it takes some time to learn the syntax even if you have some programming experience.
I only did MATH3063 (the normal stream), which is completely different from MATH3963, and I didn't do MATH3962, so I'm afraid that I can't comment on those.
I personally found MATH3974 most interesting, but since you are doing pure maths, probably you won't be considering it
