If you are finding general maths so easy then that means you can state rank the subject which also means you will kill the subject!

Other than that, I believe it might be too late now to get into Adv. Maths, what subj, do you do?

No I haven't spoken to the head yet. Do you know of anyone in this position? (my position)

You should and I have heard some people wanting to move up into advanced maths but I don't think they were 6 months in to a course. Also, BOS has a strict cut-off date, but I'm not too sure when the date is- but I do believe its way past.

OP, how strong is your maths foundation, i.e. what level of maths did you do in year 9-10?

i wouldn't go up to advanced, they are completely different courses in their entirety. Look at the past hsc math exams and general exams and see if you can recognise anything.

One of the guys in my year, moved up to advanced around 4.5 months into his preliminary year! He began looking into 2U maths a bit before so he came into the subject to not get completely overwhelmed with the work. He is going really well know (midway through HSC).

If you are doing well in General, you might as well stay. Otherwise you'll need a good work ethic to catch up, which will involve a huge chunk of effort in your holidays studying.

I would recommend for you to talk to the head teacher first, there's no point if you start studying and get rejected.
