Thanks guys about the adv/stand english thing, because they make such a huge deal that advanced is that much harder. The texts in standard are easier (and more interesting) to read than advanced ones im pretty sure
I disagree. I am a casual reader and have read some of the advanced english prescribed texts for both years 11 and 12 and compared to what i did in Standard i personally believe that the Advanced English texts are more interesting in themselves.

However, we did The Shawshank Redemption as a prescribed text in year 11 and that was much better than anything that advanced had to offer

In relation to Standard texts being easier, i agree, they are quite simple and straightforward for the most part once you understand the concepts. But due to aligning it is much harder to actually get a good mark in the HSC.

Aligning not scaling but I'd agree with what Katsumi has says.

Currently we're reading North and South for the AOS of Discovery, which isn't the easiest read.

Haha yeah its al right. Mock trial is mainly for the teachers (hes downright hilarious) and i'm not very good at chess (get obliterated by NSB every time) but its good fun.

I see, that would be quite the pain haha

At least you guys don't need to go through the horrors of belonging with Peter Skryznecki. I still cringe when i think of studying that

Literally. Third day back and I get thrown all these assessment dates (Week 7, with my HSC Business assessment and half yearly in Week 9).

Way to scare me ; A ; I DON'T EVEN WANT TO SOCIALISE ANYMORE.

I got an assessment for English also, so I'm a bit demotivated because I don't have any money...

Me bro! Chemistry has been fun, though I was a bit sad when I accidentally broke a flash into pieces when I was doing this fractional distillation experiment. Maths has been boring doing in Math in Focus questions, English has been a bit of a mind-opener about belonging LOL. Bro, if you play soccer at a state level, don't drop it! It's a beautiful sport
