Hello,
I am currently doing Yr 12 2014 HSC and I am thinking what 'universities' should I go for.
I wanted to work on media, interactive arts or game development. I looked at UTS' Game Development course (Bachelor of Science in Games Development) and the required ATAR is 91.50! Even though I have not finished the HSC, I do not think I could reach 90+. Realistically I can reach 80-89 ATAR. My top subjects are English, Art and Software Design & Development.
So that leaves me with two other options:
Option 1 - Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) offering Bachelor of Games and Virtual Worlds.
Option 2 - Academy of Information Technology (AIT) offering Bachelor of Interactive Media (Game Development)
I know very little about these two 'Academies' and for those who may know, which one would you recommend?
Do note that AIT offers a 'pathway' to UTS. Which means once you finish whatever course you desire in AIT, they can get you a place into UTS' Master degree or something. Plus they also have the FEE-HELP scheme (http://studyassist.gov.au/sites/studyassist/helppayingmyfees/fee-help/pages/fee-help-). I do not know what FEE-HELP is but it does sound helpful.
A side question if I may. Does it really matter what University do we go to? Will it not really affect my chance of finding a job? Considering they offer very similar or identical bachelor degrees. To be honest my knowledge of universities is very slim. Can you help me?
Thank you.
