The ABC has confirmed that Lindt Cafe manager Tori Johnson and Sydney lawyer Katrina Dawson were the two hostages killed this morning.
38-year-old Katrina Dawson was a Sydney lawyer, and mother of three. She was a barrister at Selbourne Chambers. Her husband is Paul Smith, a partner at Mallesons. She has three young children.
She studied law at Sydney University, lived at the women's college there, and did her clerkship at Mallesons where she met her husband.
34-year-old Tori Johnson had worked at the Lindt cafe since October 2012, and has worked at a string of other restaurants and hospitality companies around Sydney.
Former colleague Tony Manno who worked with Tori at Sydney's Adria Rybar & Grill for a number of years says he was shattered to hear the news this morning.
"Tori was a great guy, a good guy to be around got on really well with all the staff," he said.
