The legal industry will probably recover or partially recover from the GFC by the time 2014 HSCers graduate (2020). Plus, the baby boomers will have retired by then, so more jobs! I have hope...Definitely prestige, and status. Money isn't too bad. But, I also heard that law grads unemployment has sky-rocketed?
I remember reading somewhere that if every lawyer retired, there would be enough law graduates to replace them within three years. In any event, if Law is what you really want, that shouldnt put you off.The legal industry will probably recover or partially recover from the GFC by the time 2014 HSCers graduate (2020). If thats true, howcome 8 years ago most law grads were finding work straight out of uni? Has the overall pool of lawyers reduced?I remember reading somewhere that if every lawyer retired, there would be enough law graduates to replace them within three years. Uni places for law have been growing heaps over the last few years. It's a saturated field and it is nowhere near the career it once was. If you like it, by all means go for it, but if you're in it for the money, there are better/easier options. If thats true, howcome 8 years ago most law grads were finding work straight out of uni?
