is it possible for a guy to get into a course even if they fall short off the atar cutoff including bonus pioints in it
so say guy 1 get an atar of 85 gets 5 bonus points and has 90 but cutoff mark is 91 would be get a round one offer or after round one or nothing?

Bahahah what about UTS reckon there flexible
yes they are. Some friends of mine went and did BSc(IT) with like 70-80's

It's uws they dt care what Mark u get they just want people
not really; they do somewhat give preference to those who achieved highly and then if there are spots left over they fill them (just like any other university would)

with engineering, you learn the same maths, same physics, same computing etc etc. I have never seen an engineering job application say "UNSW grads only"

like you're a drop out that had to resort to UWS? no, not at all. If you finished a degree; you should ideally have an equal opportunity

unfortunately we don't live in an ideal world. engineering at unsw is going to look better on someones resume than engineering at uws. go8 prestige may not be as big in the engineering field as it is in say commerce or law, but its still there.

and to answer ops question. its possible, but in a lot of degrees, especially at the more prestigious unis, if u dont meet the cutoff then too bad u wont get an offer. however there are a lot of alternative pathways u can consider if u miss out on getting direct entry

If you look at 'the good university guide' not sure if they have an online copy! Maybe someone has it and could share? But anyway they provide all of the graduate statistics like that! Don't get caught up in prestige, in engineering faculties University of Wollongong last year or perhaps the year before had the highest employment for graduates as a percentage of total grads and it is classified as one of the prestigious universities for engineering. Good marks in a degree look good from any university in Australia, perhaps excluding an online degree in engineering, merely because teamwork is a big component of the course and if you can't interact with people it might be an issue!

Also about the original question, like other people have said if you are close there is a good chance of you getting a spot and many universities have programs for people who were just below and it allows them into a degree after 1-2 sessions. :)

yeah that's true but that means you just have to work that 1% harder to get a job
