Hi guys
I'm currently in year 11, and I want an atar over 95.
My school is ranked around the 90th(around). My subjects are

2 unit maths
Advanced English
Chemistry
Biology
Business studies
2 unit studies of religion

I am keeping all these subjects for year 12. What rank in class will I need ? And around what percent will I need in internal exams for this atar?
Also how do I get a umat score of over 80 percent .I want to get into optometry.
Thanks

Probably need to be in the top 10% of every subject (marks don't matter).

You will need to practice the UMAT.

if that's what you "want" then work hard for it. You're not just going to get 95+ atar and 80%ile UMAT just by asking for it

if you have 100 people in english then be top 5, 50 people in maths then come at least top 3. Preferably come 1st in everything and then your ATAR will only depend on your HSC external marks

Thanks again. Coming first in everything plus good hsc mark will get me over 99 right .... My aim is around 97 percent ..does this still apply if I want around 97?

Biology-92
Studies of religion-79

What rank will I need to be in class to get an atar of 97.

doesn't matter of your ranked 1st or last with those hypothetical marks, you will still get the same atar

So u mean my rank doesn't affect my atar with marks as good as these?
So with these hypothetical marks ,what would my rough atar be??
But isn't your internal rank important with the hsc ... I'm right now kind of confused ....can u please give me advice on where my rough internal subject rank should be in each subject..and what hsc exam marks I should be aiming for in each subject -for an atar of roughly 97..
Thanks .sorry for the inconvenience

no i don't mean that at all. what i mean is that you hypothetical marks have already been calculated so UAC doesn't care about your ranks

wack it into a atar calculator

Thanks for your help! So basically get band 6 in my subjects and it doesn't matter about my rank in school as UAC has already calculated my mark ..as well as get good in internal exams and dont worry about ranks

completely missed everything I said but it doesn't matter.

Most likely you will hear about it from friends/classmates/teachers when the time comes
