Yes. However if you know all the maths but can't apply it then you can't do anything useful generally. There is a lot to engineering that is of a different maths nature.

The engineering maths can get quite different to the pure maths.

Although without maths basics you will get nowhere in engineering. However with pure maths you need that extra bit of insight into the actual maths and explore it more often. Engineering maths you need the insight in design, then use the maths as part of your tool kit to guide you through rather than actually exploring the maths more.

So the applications of each are different.

In saying that I might still do a minor in maths ^__^

apparently it takes 15 minutes (1.1 km) to walk there

from recollection it is probably around that but I walk reasonably fast
