I know, Dali is amazing at hyper-realism. But I think a lot of people chooses Dali for their case studies.

For post modern artists, we looked at Ron Mueck and Patricia Piccinini last week.

I love Ron Mueck and Patricia Piccinini(albeit for different reasons)-who is your favourite artist(s)?

Yeah we did Dali in year 11. He's amazing but I wouldn't use him in my art essay (too common ahhahah!)

I used Patricia Piccinini as artist inspiration for my BoW! Her works are amazing! Its interesting how she's classified as post-modern! She definitely stretches the boundaries and challenges what we think about science but she's also in her own field at the same time

care to share why you love Patricia Piccinini? (not familiar with the other artist, but you can share about him too!)

I think some of my favourite artists include Ellen Jewett, Ai Wei Wei (omg that man is amazing) and Petra Collins

I love Patricia Piccinini because of her unique approach in the issues she explores, she often combines the benefits of collaboration(collation of different areas of expertise) to realise creatures of her imagination into physical objects, I admire both her diversity and creativity in her artworks, and I love the scientific, ethical issues she examines, often through a compassionate, humane lens:)

I've finished the experimentation of one of the ceramics, and I think I've decided what style of elephant works best.

Sounds awesome! Can you upload some pictures? And what style of elephant are you doing?

What thematic concerns are you exploring? Sounds like an interesting body of work:)

Well I'm looking into the darker side of story books, whilst making 'innocent' characters .

Have you seen Maria Kozic's 'Monster'? It's been at the MCA for a while, I don't know if it's still there, but it's an interesting reference if you want to look at different character personalities!

How's everyone's progress with their BoWs these holidays?

No I haven't seen Maria Kozic's 'Monster' but I'll check it out.

My VAPD is slightly up to date ( I think it is but knowing my luck my art teacher will have a fit next term)

Not so good only done about one drawing on the good quality scanable paper :(
