Annual (1 Year): $75*
3 Years: $175*
5 Years: $275*
~ Anyone who has an Access Card prior to 2014 would have received an email giving you up to three free coffees to make up for the price difference ~
* A tent is set up for you to purchase your Access benefits card during O-Week or you can go to the Manning Building anytime during or after O-Week. You may also purchase an Access Card online. Prices have been lowered in comparison to years prior to 2014.

Joining Clubs and Societies
You will need an Access Card to join any clubs or societies. A small membership fee may need to be paid for some clubs and societies. Some clubs/societies also require renewed membership every year.

Welcome to USyd... :)

Any word on why they reduced the price of Access?

The email said nothing from what I remember. It just said that because of the cheaper prices that we are entitled to three free regular (maybe large... can't remember) coffees to make up for the price difference. :S I paid $210 for mine and now its only $175. Also a 4-year Access Card is no longer available.

Still won't stop people from campaigning about how Access will become free the following year..

Of course it's nice to have the price go down but it's worth knowing if they are putting it down to get more members or they've reduced some of the benefits for Access holders.

i think its great and its pretty reasonably priced now. was a little excessive before, but $70 a year to join all the clubs and get all these sick 15% off discounts is great!

cant wait for o-week :)

also what goes on during the nights and do i have to be 18 for it? got a couple more months before im legal unfortunately.

From the feedback given about access (we were told this in volunteer training), most people said access was too expensive so they're reducing the prices so more people can join. But yeah it is a gamble and they want to see how it fares. Also for people who paid for access prior to 2014, apparently it's 1 free coffee if you bought 1 year, 2 coffees for 2 year, 3 coffees for 3 year etc.

it's all in the links in OP's post but they have an opening night party on Day 1 (but it's 18+), however you can go to Comedy Night or (listen to Jazz) on Day 2 and/or Band Night on Day 3 (it's all ages i think). I think there's also a Disney marathon at night on Day 1 as well which is all ages.

But is it really free if you have already paid for it? Dem philosophical thoughts.

And of course, Cumbo scab didn't get Access. (Though I feel for you, I really don't think Cumbo kids get their share of services for their SA fees)

DW you can have all 3 of mine... not much of a coffee drinker. :)

@LHS Considering the price difference and the free coffee deal to make up for it... I am going to have to (well madharris will have to) drink that coffee up one tiny sip at a time.

Hence why you will be sipping that coffee 'til the last drop. :p

BTW was it every five coffee purchases you get a free regular or every ten? Coz I am getting so many vouchers and I don't even drink that much... :/

Add on: since when did we have our own symphony orchestra? ~ must resist joining ~ :spin:

Disney Appreciation Society has movie nights every now and again at the International Student Lounge too (free for members and a small fee for non-members). The No Homers Club is hosting a mini Simpsons marathon and also Kitty Flannagan will be featuring in the Monkey Business Comedy Night.

Just to add: anyone who wishes to join a club or society may have to pay a small membership fee and must also have an Access Card with them. :p Different clubs and societies have their own goodie bags and you can always join outside of O-Week or during Re O-Day in second semester.
