Hey guys,

I'm moving to a different location and I was thinking of joining another company. I'm currently with Optus and their service seems reasonable.
Any recommendations for a new service provider for naked DSL or a bundle?

Thanks

Have you looked into cable? (or does your area not have it?)

It is obviously more expensive, but I get speeds up to 28 Mbps, so it is clearly faster than A/DSL/2+.

What the fk, you get 28 Mbps? Which company are you with and how far away are you from the exchange?

Optus. About 5.5km from the exchange. Maybe you missed it - I'm on Cable, so it should generally be faster than ADSL.

I'm with Optus. I remember doing the speed test thing a while back and it said top 80% of the state or something, but still that varies with your area.

Get normal cable (ie not optic fibre, but copper cable). ADSL methods aren't as fast as internet on copper cables (I'm on that with Optus), which is usually the same price as ADSL because it just depends on where you live.
