Trigonometric circular function question (1 Viewer)

A point p is 8 cm distant from the centre of a circle of radius length 5 cm. Find the length of the major arc between the points of contact of the tangents drawn from p to the circle. Need help with this question please. Thanks :confused2:

I assume its what the diagram looks like

Note that the angle between the radius and the tangent is a right angle
you can then use Pythagoras to find the angle at the centre (between the two radii)
and then the length of the arc

You are correct :D How did you figure out that the angle between the radius and the tangent is a right angle?

Yeah, and some good interpreting skills for the ambiguous questions eg. Loan Repayments. Rip my hair out on those ones lol.
