I didn't choose the homework option but did the screencast. I got 9 out of 10. I actually didn't think it was that good, but it got played in the lecture in front of everyone among a few others. Any chance to get extra marks I would take, especially when this only took a full Sunday to start and finish.

If you are finding some of the concepts hard to understand, I really recommend you check out this guys video (relating to what you have been taught, not all of them):

In Accounting B, you have to do the homework if you want to get 10 marks (as part of your overall grade). The good thing about this subject is they don't actually hand it up and mark it, the tutor will just look at the beginning of the tutorial and will mark you off. Only problem is it's a random check 3 times throughout the semester - you miss one weeks homework and you forfeit the 10 marks

I don't think i'm going to be doing Accounting B until next year, and possibly in Spring. They better not change the textbook.

Good news for Accounting, for those who failed:

- But equally importantly in Accounting A if you are able to get 50% in the final exam, regardless of your performance up to the time of the final exam you will pass Acc A.
- Accounting subjects NEVER scale down
All from Jono

New shop in the tower building food court. Anyone gotten anything there yet? Seems to be priced pretty competitively, but I still haven't bought anything from any of the shops besides UniBrothers lol.

Yeah, most the other places are fairly dead in comparison. The new place looks all right though. Something that looks like pork rolls for $5, chicken or pork + rice for $6.50, fish and chips for $8.

How is the social life at UTS? I've heard it's quite a hole and not the best uni for socialising in comparison with usyd and unsw. Please be honest.

It's hard to compare since I have only ever been at UTS (i.e. been enrolled there). You meet plenty of people in classes and there is a good amount of active societies to join and plenty of stuff to do around uni (either in or out lol). I don't doubt that Usyd and UNSW would be better for socialising given the nature of their campuses but I don't think UTS is anywhere near as bad for socialising as some people say.

The two things UTS is really missing compared to Usyd and UNSW is the whole college culture since the on campus accomodation seems to work a little differently at UTS. I don't live on campus so it doesn't directly affect me. Also, none of the societies (i think there may be one generic one actually) have "revues"

lol I agree, m so behind in accounting... I need to catch up with 3 weeks of accounting work. That 'lanky' lecturer is so lame. Covers like 100 concepts per lecture -.-

I don't think his pace is any different to Jon's. Even though Jon was a better lecturer I still think Wakefield is one of the better lecturers i've had.
