If you were working as an adviser to the government about possible public policy reforms what would you suggest?

A thorough review of our failing immigration and cultural policies and what must be done to restore Australia.

aka bringing back white australia policy?

how is immigration failing btw? it's bringing so many skilled workers and investors into the country. that's like, pretty much common sense.

We should have a larger navy though, having 12 patrol boats for our entire coast isn't exactly a good thing.

Sort of. That policy didn't discriminate on race but was about cultural values, which I think we should bring back. It goes back to where someone grew up and the values they learned, not their skin colour.

I.e. it is better to let a person who is of Chinese race but was born in and grew up in NZ immigrate here than a person of Chinese race who was born and raised in China. As it comes down to culture (NZ is similar to Australia whereas China is not), not race.

return all land to aboriginal people
instate aboriginal elders as prime minister, head of state and govenor general
reroute all government spending to demolishing capital cities, flattening them and returning them an era reminiscent of pre-colonization
ban the use of all technology and disconnect australia from the internet
shut down our financial markets
go back to the dreamtime

Good luck on getting European immigrants to come here. There's not that many Europeans that meet the skill nor financial investment requirements to come in as a long term immigrant. White Australia policy had nothing to do with culture, but everything to do with race. How were did the greeks, italians, irish and non-anglo immigrants have the same cultural values as Australians? Or any other European country besides the UK? Their values and lifestyle are completely different.

Why do you think cultural values matter so much? The most important thing being in Australia is to be a law abiding citizen. Besides, Australia is the cultural backwater of the world and is pretty much scoffed at by most Europeans. There's a reason there isn't a mass immigration by Europeans if Australia was that great. They'd rather live with their shitty economy than move to Australia. There's a reason why there's the phrase 10 pound pom, we just let any brit who can pay the 10 pound boat ride to immigrate freely. Still didn't even populate the country.

SylviaB reminds me of malory archer, thinking all immigrants do is drive around listening to rap and shooting up all the jobs. Sylvia I know it must really hurt that you're probably 3-4th generation Australian thinking you're top shit. Great job on just being born here making you qualified to keep all those pesky "uncivilized" folks out
