Can someone help me find poetic techniques in this poem which could relate to a journey? sorry if i'm asking for too much, im not good at poetry.

I have spent all these years exploring the continents of the mind
And still I cannot fully map their shores or hidden hinterlands.
5 By some, their very existence is denied in sheer terror. Some creep around the edges,
Not daring to enter the unknown terrain.
I walk safely through these landscapes 10 That are so familiar to me.
There are cliffs of fall, dreadful and treacherous,
And, at the bottom, the abyss, black and deep.
How to escape from such a place?
There are oceans of tears wept from innumerable eyes over
15 the centuries –
How not to drown in such grief?
There are wild jungles of madness like endless mazes
And where is the hand to guide the lost?
20 There are quicksands of fear into which the unwary can slip
And who is to rescue them?
There are cold, cruel lands of ice which freeze the heart – Erupting volcanoes of hot hate
And fogs of forgetfulness to wipe out the terrible past.
25 I walk in safety through these landscapes And those who are desperate walk with me
Through these strange haunts
Into safe harbours and homely havens.
The continents of the mind change like clouds blown by the
30 wind,
Never the same, never still,
And yet always known to me
As I guide the fearful ones out of the shadows And into the sun.

Composer utilises metaphor in 'continents' to suggest to responders about the ideas of how it relates to distinct areas of the mind, physical, emotional and etc.

Composer uses visual imagery of the metaphoric 'continents' to allow responders to deeply explore the aspects of emotional experiences as conveyed through composer's use of emotive language and alliteration to add interest. Pretty much all of the visual imagery used in this poem is intended to shape meaning of the persona's inner journey from the metaphoric phrase ' continents of the mind'

The use of repetition in conjunction with rhetorical questions allows responders to explore and understand the fear within the persona's inner journey.

That's all that I could find, pretty sure there's a few more that others can point out, good luck.
Symbolism too i guess
