Rudd should probably condider coming back as leader when Labor inevitably becomes the opposition party. Trying to take over leadership whilst in government is incredibly stupid and short sighted. Labor will not win the election either way and better the loss be worn by Gillard than by Rudd.

I tend to agree. Rudd isn't prime minister tonight only because he didn't want the leadership at present. Even with himself as leader I think he knows Labor still couldn't win the election, hence he is going to let Gillard fall on her sword.

As such, Greg Combet is now the Minister for Climate Change, Industry and Innovation and his Parliamentary Secretary, Yvette D’Ath will also have a revised title.
