With homeostasis, are the changes that are detected by receptors from WITHIN the body only?

homeostasis is responsible for maintaining a stable INTERNAL environment. However changes in the external environment can cause changes in the internal environment which are then detecte by receptors from within the body - e.g. increase in outside temp causes increase in body temp which is detected by hypothalamus.
