Doing maths in a Sci/Engineering double degree? (1 Viewer)

I have to do 6 credit points worth of maths each semester for both science and engineering. But the maths subjects are already fixed for my engineering course, whereas the science ones can be selected, I'm not planning to specialise in maths or anything, so I only want to do the ones relevant to my areas of interest. Could my maths credit points in engineering double up for my maths credit points in science, or do I still have to do 6 credit points of maths for EACH degree?

You only do one set of first year maths units. As you're doing engineering, you'll have to do the normal (MATH100*) level units and they will also fulfill the requirements of your science degree.

It's chemical engineering...not that much maths, i suppose. Compared to civil or something.

There are several maths subjects that are core to the engineering degree.

As part of the science degree, you must do a certain numbers of first year maths units.

Doing MATH1001, MATH1002 etc in first year will then meet both requirements at the same time.

However, remember the units do not count twice. You have to do a total of 240 credit points in your combined degree. The maths only counts once, ie MaTH1001 only counts as 3 credit points, you cannot claim that is 3 credit points to science AND 3credit points to Engo.
