What have you guys been up to? How are you feeling about results? Do you miss school?

I've been so busy since the HSC I've barely thought about them till now when things have slowed a bit. Been working, away in Melbourne/Sydney, done RCG/RSA etc. so haven't really slowed down since school till now.

Back when I finished I thought I'd be really keen to know how I did in each sub but that's all evaporated. At this point, I actually like how there's any number of possibilities, so I really don't actually want the score in a way, but a small part if me is emerging that I really just want to know my ATAR so my future can crystallise in a more definite fashion.

As much as a 95+ would be nice, I know the score doesn't define my intelligence/work ethic/future , and whatever I get I'll try and pull some HDs in uni ;D

And I will say I'm definitely a nerd that misses school a little, the HSC part, no way. But the rest of the Year 12 year was really fun and I do miss how easy it was to meet up with people at and after school, and also as random as it sounds, chatting to some of the teachers at my school. Just me running out of being super busy past school, and I can't wait till end of Feb to move to uni (uni's going to be more awesome than HS, I can feel it). It's pretty exciting to know I will be moving out of home end of Feb, so it's a pretty big adventure from country to city for me exclusive of the actual transition from school to uni!

I'm a little apprehensive towards what my ATAR will turn out to be but if I don't get what I expect/want, then it'll all be fine. As long as I get into my course, I won't be too upset :)

I miss school but I'm more enthusiastic to what university offers. So many societies and chances to socialise makes it seem so exciting!

I don't feel any difference tbh to when I was at school except an extra 8 hours of playtime! As for results, I'll accept what I will get. Have I missed school? Hell no!

Haha I haven't even thought about my ATAR since school- this'll be interesting. What I'll do when results come out is look at each subject individually (cover up the other ones) and then look at my assessment mark and then the exam mark.

School was fun but I'm loving this freedom and stuff now too- there's time to catch up with everyone, go out all the time etc. =) Pumped for uni though- should be fun

You sound exactly like me! I am so excited for the uni and club aspects, and also getting involved in college life! I think you'll get a good ATAR.

Haha that's exactly what I've planned to do all the long. I want to digest every mark separately so I can be like "that's OK" so that it's not just an information dump because otherwise if there's one mark I'm unhappy with I don't want it to sour the rest. I'd rather have mini celebrates firstly if I'm happy with any of my subs, and then look at the whole thing as a whole.

A respectable ATAR*
Look beyond the ATAR. To be honest, I was nervous about getting my ATAR and it turned out to be better than expected. But realistically, it wasnt a big deal to me ultimately - there were other achievements during the HSC year I made which I was way more proud of and which I consider to be more significant.

True that. When I think back on my HSC year, the greatest things that give me joy are not my marks. I loved doing my public speaking, debating, I'm proud I was recognised with Citizenship prize, proud I went overseas to Africa etc. I believe I made the most of extra curricular opportunity and grew as a person-I think compared to Year 11, I developed a much less cloistered world view.

One can only hope at this point. But when uni starts, it's all in - even harder than the HSC.

I have. If I didn't, I don't think I'd be doing what I'm doing atm. I just want my ATAR to show me that I made my course and that I at least got 95 so I can just put all of year 12 behind me. I think I only gained something near the end of my HSC year - I kinda learnt about the value of education and I guess I matured in some ways so yeah.

True, obviously for many, the ATAR is needed for uni and stuff so the ATAR definitely has it's importance (this goes without saying). But I think that at times many people, even those who do well, dont gain much from the experience. In uni, people with poor habits in certain areas come unstuck and these people can often be high achievers.

Working full time, seeing friends most nights, starting some online courses on Coursera and hopefully jumping into one of UNSW's summer semester courses. I have maybe 1-2 hours of free time a day, and have never been more busy. The HSC is far behind me :)
