Just out of curiosity, how do you personally pronounce the word 'locus'?

Myself, many of my friends and most of my school teachers pronounce it as lock-cus. My teachers have said that it should be pronounced this way.

Teachers from other schools and many students I've tutored pronounce it as low-cus. I've even had a few of them argue that this is 'right' way to say it.

I know it's pronounced lock-cus, but I still say low-cus because it rolls of the tongue better imo.

Back to locus.

So far I only know of Australians using - Lock-us.

I believe it may have originated because of mathsonline and teachers who have really Australian accents that may find it difficult to pronounce "low-cus"
