I don't think there's anything wrong with it if everyone in this sort of relationship is fine with it.

I personally wouldn't like to be in a polygamous relationship, and if my husband spoke to me about him getting a second wife, I don't think I would be too happy.

It's just plain wrong.
When you marry, you pledge to be loyal to your partner, however if you have another partner whether they know about each other or not is just wrong.
Why can't you be loyal to multiple partners? And on what grounds are you labelling things as "just wrong"?

This thread is full of people that are like "THIS IS MY OPINION! EVERYONE MUST LISTEN TO IT!"

Who gives a shit, it doesn't affect you.

This.

Although perhaps I would go beyond everybody being just ok with it, i think there should be an obligation to treat everybody equally financially (and you would hope emotionally as well)

hus·band /ˈhəzbənd/
Noun: A married man considered in relation to his wife.

wife /wīf/
Noun: A married woman considered in relation to her husband.

The definition of 'husband' excludes 'in relation to his husband [or male lover]', therefore it is grammatically incorrect to have same sex marriages.

Because dictionaries have been definite since the beginning of the universe.

There's nothing wrong with this at all.
I don't believe being gay is a choice, so I believe two people of the same sex should be able to get married
Then why not people that want to be polygamous (I get that it isn't a choice, but still).

Well as a Catholic, I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman. However I am not going to disrespect a man if he decides to have a husband or a woman if she decides to have a wife. I just don't agree with it :)
When I read "as a Catholic" I nearly vomited.

Being gay isn't a choice but being terrible (Catholic) is, so I have much less respect for you.

Disrespect means 'an expression of lack of respect', you don't respect that relationship as valid, so you are disrespecting those in same sex relationships.
This.

But it does effect people when someone is restricting the rights of others.

That's what I meant. Stop trying to limit people on what they want to do when it doesn't make a difference to you.

Okay, cool, thank you for that insight into my brain Dr. Lolsmith MBBS BPsych etc.
Well the implication here is that you don't think less of strangers for identifying openly and proudly as Catholic, which I think it is fairly safe to say that you do.

tbh I would not like my son or daughter turning gay thus being unable to spread my superior genes into the gene pool.

the way I see it, supporting and making gay marriage acceptable would lead to an increase in the homosexual population (in the future). I personally would not like my son or daughter turning gay (for the reason mentioned in my first sentence). If my children grow up with gays, they may be influenced by their sexual preferences. why do I say this? the environment in which a person is brought up in is a heavy contributor to a persons' behaviour, morals and overall 'character'.

therefore, I disapprove for this reason. so in this sense, gay people are affecting me, albeit indirectly.

Half the people I have met at school and shit were strangers that are Catholic and are now my friends.

Thanks for attempting to understand me at least.
