I have reached that form, though I don't understand how you reached a=1/4. (Seems like what I thought was how to do it was wrong :()
Notice that the general form is: (x-h)^2 = 4a(y-k)

So "equating" the general form with the form above would give you 4a =1, therefore a=1/4.

The points P and Q on the curve x=2at, y=at^2 have parameters p and q respectively.

c)Show that PQ intersects the directrix at ([2a(pq-1)]/(p+q), -a)

If it's more convenient Exercise 9E 3C in Year 11 extension 1 maths Cambridge.

Did you attempt every question at least?
Ran out of time to attempt last 2 parts of the last question. (Once the teacher said 15 minutes left I basically freaked out and couldn't really do anything).

I think my mark is between 75%-85%

That's OK, like deswa said, at least you gave it your all. What % needed to do 4 unit?
