I may be doing a Bachelor of Medical Science / Bachelor of Engineering double degree at USyd this year and I was just wondering which engineering is the best to do.

I was thinking something along the lines of Chemical, but then I thought about Civil, Mechanical, etc. and now I can't make up my mind.

So, pretty much, which engineering is the best?

Thanx broskis.

Well if your intrested in doing engineering but your not sure what type to do then why don't you do a first year flexiable entry.
You will get a taste of all the different types of engineering e.g. chem and mech etc. Then you can make up your mind which one you like best and major in the one of your choice.

what r u talking about? money? or uni?

geotechnical (civil) and petroleum engineering is best to earn money.

and if u r talking about uni, unsw is best, but unsw and usyd is not really different

world rank is very close, unsw is 19th usyd is 25th

so yea,, go uni which is closer to u hahah

Ugh.

Neither.

UNSW doesn't offer Engg/MedSc so why would I consider going there for it?!

I don't think it's fair to say that a certain engineering stream is better than the other.

But since you're doing Medical Science, have you considered Biomedical Engineering?

That's because it's useless to do Med Sci with Engo.
Arts is useless in general and it's offered everywhere.

I don't see you point.

Also, doing Biomedical + Medical science isn't useless at all.

Imma doing biomed engg and medsc so it's not that weird.

Lol, if you say engineering and medical are completely different, then engineering and commerce/finance is even more completely different. Just because engineering/commerce is a common combination, it doesn't deter from the fact that they are completely different.

And the argument that says combining with commerce is going to help you with getting an engineering management job is completely bogus. It will be at least 10 years before anyone will seriously consider you for a management job, which by then, you could have done a part-time MBA which I believe would be better than a commerce bachelors.
