So let me get this straight. The first time you see the people you are going to camp with is on the day the bus leaves? And you sleep in a room full of people you've only known for a few hours?

Iruler, what is the camp like? I'm not exactly one to 'put myself out there'.

That's the point man. It's about making friends, getting people out of their social comfort zone.

That is correct, as mitchy_boy said, it's to get to know people before uni actually starts, it's good for making friends. I was lucky, I had about 7-8 people there I already knew from my old school and some others, so it was pretty fun we all stuck together, but still I made 3-4 friends who ustill talk to often now, more than my older friends from my school, it's a nice opportunity to interact with others.

The camp itself, that's for me to know and you to find out when you get there :)

1. Make friends with Asians.
2. Share notes.
3. Study with them
4. Ace tests
5. PROFIT?!!?!!

I'm honestly kidding about the asian part though. The large majority of my year was white, and I was friends with heaps of them.

have fun hehehehehehe
Lol it actually does sound like it will be fun.

Glad we will have the oppurtunity to make some friends before uni, the whole uni environment (especially at UTS it seems) seems completely different socially to high school. Since IT and ICT engineering are together im sure a lot of us will be geeky hehe.

Does seem weird how we wont know anybody until we leave though, but should be good.

Bbus and Bsc (IT) students have to go right?

Oh and what's the girl to guy ratio like at this camp?
Yep, i'm doing ICT Engineering/Business and going. This is engineering (specifically ICT too) and IT we are talking about so i imagine the girl to guy ratio will be very low, why are you wondering =P? Girls accomodation is seperate to the guys and near the volunteers cabins and boys are supposedly not allowed in there - it's like primary school/high school camps all over haha.

You dont have to go, but they put it like you do.
According to the site it's "compulsory". Anyway as if you wouldn't want to go, it costs practically nothing and should be fun + we get to meet new people.

How many others going will be under 18 and not able to drink there? = (

Trust me, that "compulsory" just means that they want you to come, only about half the people usually turn up (if that, still gets very full though).

Drinks is only 1 night
