Re: The Official Cricket Thread

yeah fairly certain harris, siddle and hilfenhaus will get the bulk of the wickets so like you said the 4th bowler will be redundant. so it doesnt really matter who they end up playing.
Not if they don't get them early, you still need someone who can keep the pressure on, restrict scoring and get through the overs quickly.

Completely agree. Who would you have instead though?

Re: The Official Cricket Thread

I can't help feeling that while Siddle appears to be the mainstay of the group at the moment, he is going to have a really harsh fall from grace the minute he shows mildly questionable form. Hilfenhaus can be such a strong new ball bowler as his proven this series, Harris is just such a complete bowler plus Pattinson and Cummins are such exciting promising talent that Siddle won't be given the chances that Johnson and Hilfenhaus both got given to try and regain their form. I don't agree with it, I think he has earned the spot but like Andy Bichel or Stuart Clark there just doesn't seem to be a really keen desire to keep him in the job. So long as he maintains his form he'll be safe ofcourse, and if the others are injured or hopelessly out of form he'll stay but otherwise I reckon it will be sudden and without a lot of warning.

Bah, a century is a century.

Australia is so going to win this test. Which is a shame because... I though India would give us a run for our money.

If warner goes at the same rate tomorrow and bats all day he will score 400 by himself, so glad he is playing test cricket!

Absolutely pathetic, this series is more boring than 2006/2007.
